What is Home Education and Why this website?
We left the school system over 3 years ago as it did not meet out children's SEN requirements. It was only when we deregistered that we actually took the time to look back and wonder why we ever entered the system in the first place!
This system is outdated and broken. It does not cater for every child and their individual needs.
When we left school, it was daunting and trying to find the right information and support was tough at first. So, we wanted to build a community website that can help offer advice, guidance and support to anyone on their Home Ed journey or looking into potentially starting it.
Reasons to Home Educate.. how long is a piece of string!

To support SEN children or children who require additional support. The school system is not a 'one size fits all' and all children are different which means they will learn in different ways and at different speeds.

To take away anxiety and un-needed pressure of the school system and to be at the same educational level as your class just because they are the same age as you.

For freedom in learning. There is no need to follow the curriculum and learn about things with no interest. Have the flexibility to explore what interests your children and bring genuine fun back to education.

You would call me crazy if I told you I had 30 children. However, the 'system' tells us to take our individual children and leave them with a stranger who is in charge of teaching up to 30 kids at the same speed attending to all their individual needs.
